Our driver, Paul, provided us with two ice cold Piton beers for the ride (yes, it is legal to "drink and drive" in St. Lucia!), and we began our journey from the airport to Jalousie in a lovely, comfortable, air-conditioned sedan. Additionally, Paul was kind enough to stop at a convenience store where my husband and I purchased a case of bottled water, and he also stopped at a fire station and at a few points of interest along the way, where we could take photos. The journey from UVF to Jalousie took just short of one hour. As a note....the roads in this region of the country are incredibly windy and treacherous....I would definitely recommend a Dramamine tablet for those who are susceptible to motion-sickness! By the end of our journey to Jalousie, I was definitely feeling a bit queasy.
We flew into the Vieux Fort airport (UVF) on Thursday, October 28th, exchanged our money at the Bank of St. Lucia inside the airport, and we were met by our transfer driver "Paul", with Real St. Lucia Tours. (http://www.realstluciatours.com) Note: I would HIGHLY recommend this company. The owner, Janus Gyan, is incredibly efficient in his response time to guest inquiries. This was the least expensive transfer we found from UVF to Jalousie (approx. $55.00 USD, one way, for two people)
